Katie wasn’t the type of girl to worry about the beginning of middle school. Until her best friend semi-dumped her at the bus stop on the first day of classes. As the day went on, her friend kept ignoring her and things began to go wrong.

After her best friend ditched her for a new group of friends called the Popular Girls Club, Katie was left alone and started to wonder if there’s an Unpopular Girls Club she could joined. Luckily, Katie found her way with a great new group of friends and together they form their own club, The Cupcake Club. It was because her new friends, Mia, Alexis, and Emma impressed with Katie’s cupcake –she and her mom are both cupcake enthusiasts –and so Katie promised to bring them a special cupcake the next time she and her mom make some. From there, they became fast friends and helped each other navigating middle school.

From the book, I’ve learned that friendship has nothing to do with popularity. It is something that came through sincerity. A true friend is someone who always there for you, happy and suffer with you, someone who can makes you dance on an awful day.
